Re:Aura in-game economy showing Shards, Yen, and AP currency systems

Re:Aura uses three currencies — Shards, Yen, and AP — each with a distinct role in climbing, summoning, and permanent upgrades.

Lore & Trivia

Overview

Re:Aura's economy runs on three currencies that separate temporary climbing income from long-term build investment. Understanding the flow between them is the difference between grinding aimlessly and scaling efficiently.

CurrencyPrimary UseScarcityBest Source
ShardsSummon Pets, Reroll SinsHighCodes, milestone rewards
YenBuy Auras, Upgrade StatsMediumCodes, per-floor rewards
APPermanent Stat UpgradesLow (but slow)Per-floor climbing rewards

Shards

Shards are the most valuable and hardest-to-farm currency in Re:Aura. They gate the two main RNG systems: pet summoning and sin rerolling.

How to Earn Shards

  • Redeem Codes — The fastest source. The SOMESHARDS code alone gives 35 Shards. See the full codes list.
  • Milestone Rewards — Reaching certain visit or like thresholds in the game sometimes triggers Shard giveaways.
  • Push Bonuses — Occasionally, pushing another player off rewards a small Shard bonus.

How to Spend Shards

  1. Summon Pets (Recommended First) — Pets provide passive bonuses to climb speed, sanity control, or push power. The summon pool has five rarity tiers, from Uncommon (25%) to Secret (0.1%). See the Pets guide for full odds.
  2. Reroll Sins — Your sin is a permanent passive buff. If your starting sin is common (Desire, Gluttony, or Sloth), one reroll is a solid early investment. Do not chase ultra-rare sins until you have a stable pet roster.

Spending Priority

Early game: Summon one pet → Reroll sin once if it is common → Save remaining Shards.

Mid game: Save Shards for targeted sin rerolls once you know which sin synergizes with your aura and pet setup.

Yen

Yen is the shop currency. It buys auras and feeds into the stat-upgrade system alongside AP.

How to Earn Yen

  • Per-Floor Rewards — Every floor cleared drops a small amount of Yen.
  • Codes1400LIKES and 380KVISITS each grant 250 Yen.
  • Push Rewards — Successfully pushing another player grants bonus Yen.

How to Spend Yen

  1. Buy an Aura (Priority #1) — The default aura is functional but weak. Purchasing Blue, Pink, Purple, or Red Aura (950 Yen each) dramatically improves sanity control. See the Auras guide for details.
  2. Stat Upgrades — After your first aura, funnel Yen into stamina and climb speed upgrades.
  3. Larp Monster Aura (2,000 Yen) — A late-early-game goal. Save for this only after you have comfortable baseline stats.

Spending Priority

First hour: Redeem codes → Buy cheapest aura (950 Yen) → Upgrade stamina once → Upgrade climb speed once.

After first aura: Alternate between stat upgrades and saving for Larp Monster.

AP (Ability Points)

AP is earned passively as you climb. Unlike Shards and Yen, AP cannot be obtained through codes — it is pure climb reward.

How to Earn AP

  • Per-Floor Base Reward — Every floor grants a small AP amount.
  • Height Bonus — Higher floors may grant slightly more AP per clear, creating an incentive to push deeper before falling.

How to Spend AP

AP is spent in the Stats menu on permanent upgrades:

  • Stamina — Increases maximum sanity, letting you climb longer before resting.
  • Climb Speed — Increases movement speed while ascending.
  • Push Power — Increases push range and success consistency.
  • Jump Height — Helpful for platforming sections; lower priority than stamina and speed.

Spending Priority

Always prioritize Stamina first. More sanity means more floors per run, which means more total AP and Yen per fall. Climb Speed is second. Push Power and Jump Height are luxuries until you can consistently reach Floor 50+.

Currency Conversion Summary

While currencies do not convert directly, their effective relationship looks like this:

Climbing → AP + Yen
Codes → Shards + Yen
Shards → Pets + Better Sins
Yen → Auras + Stat Upgrades
AP → Permanent Stat Upgrades
Better Stats → Deeper Climbs → More AP + Yen → Faster Scaling

Early-Game Spending Checklist

Follow this order during your first few sessions:

  1. Redeem all codes → Free Shards + Yen.
  2. Buy first aura (950 Yen).
  3. Summon first pet (Shards).
  4. Reroll sin once if common (Shards).
  5. Upgrade Stamina with AP.
  6. Upgrade Climb Speed with AP.
  7. Save remaining Shards for mid-game rerolls.
  8. Save Yen toward Larp Monster aura (2,000 Yen).

FAQ

What is the fastest way to get Shards?

Redeeming codes. The SOMESHARDS code gives 35 Shards instantly, and NATSUKIDANIEL gives 50 Shards plus a pet.

Should I spend Yen on stats or save for an aura?

Always buy your first aura before spending Yen on stats. The sanity control from even the cheapest purchased aura (950 Yen) is more impactful than early stat points.

Does AP carry over after I fall?

Yes. AP is permanently accumulated and spent in the stats menu. It never resets.

Can I trade currencies with other players?

No. All currencies are account-bound.

Which currency is the biggest bottleneck?

Shards. Yen and AP flow naturally from playing, but Shards are primarily gated behind codes and occasional milestone rewards. Spend them carefully.
