Re:Aura aura shop and sanity control gameplay scene

Auras control your sanity meter in Re:Aura. Six auras exist — one free default and five purchasable options ranging from 950 to 2,000 Yen.

Lore & Trivia

Overview

Your aura is the single most important tool for surviving long climbs in Re:Aura. While climbing, your sanity meter drains continuously. When it hits zero, you fall. Activating your aura slows — and with better auras, significantly reduces — this drain, letting you push deeper into the tower before needing to rest or fall.

Six auras exist in the game. You start with the Default Aura, and five additional auras can be purchased from the in-game shop using Yen. All purchased auras are permanent unlocks; once bought, you can switch between owned auras at any time.

AuraPriceNotes
Default AuraFree (starting)Basic sanity control. Sufficient for the first 10–15 floors.
Blue Aura950 YenFirst upgrade tier. Noticeably better sanity control than default.
Pink Aura950 YenSame price tier as Blue. Choice is cosmetic/stat-preference based.
Purple Aura950 YenSame price tier as Blue and Pink.
Red Aura950 YenSame price tier as the other 950 Yen auras.
Larp Monster2,000 YenPremium aura. Best sanity control in the shop. Mid-to-late game target.

Early-Game Aura Priority

For your first purchase, any of the 950 Yen auras (Blue, Pink, Purple, Red) is correct. The choice between them is primarily cosmetic — they share the same price point and offer similar sanity-control improvements over the default. Pick the color you prefer.

The Larp Monster aura at 2,000 Yen is a significant step up in both cost and performance. It should be your second aura purchase, not your first. Save for it after you have bought a 950 Yen aura and invested in your first couple of stat upgrades.

How Auras Work

Sanity Drain Mechanics

Sanity drains at a base rate while climbing. Several factors modify this rate:

  • Aura active — Reduces drain rate significantly.
  • Sprinting — Increases drain rate slightly.
  • Higher floors — Sanity drain may increase slightly at extreme heights, making aura management more critical as you push deeper.

Aura Activation

  • PC: Press Q
  • Console: Context button (varies by controller)
  • Mobile: Tap the aura icon on the right side of the screen

Auras appear to have a duration or cooldown mechanic, though exact values are not documented on the Trello board. Higher-tier auras likely provide longer active durations or shorter cooldown periods, resulting in more coverage per climb.

Rest vs. Aura

There are two ways to recover sanity:

  1. Activate Aura — Slows drain but does not recover sanity. Use this to extend a climb.
  2. Rest (E on PC) — Recovers sanity quickly but locks you in place. Use on safe, wide platforms.

The optimal rhythm is: Climb → Aura at 30% sanity → Push to next safe platform → Rest → Repeat.

Aura Buying Roadmap

Follow this sequence for efficient progression:

  1. Default Aura — Learn the game. Reach Floor 10–15.
  2. Any 950 Yen Aura — Buy as soon as you have the Yen from codes + early climbing.
  3. Stat Upgrades — Invest AP and remaining Yen into stamina and climb speed.
  4. Larp Monster (2,000 Yen) — Save toward this once you can consistently reach Floor 30+.
  5. Cosmetic Collection — Buy remaining 950 Yen auras for variety if desired.

FAQ

Which aura is the best?

Larp Monster is the best aura in the shop, offering the strongest sanity control. For early game, any 950 Yen aura is the correct first purchase.

Do auras have different colors only, or different stats?

The four 950 Yen auras (Blue, Pink, Purple, Red) are primarily cosmetic variants at the same power tier. Larp Monster is a clear step above in performance.

Can I lose an aura after buying it?

No. Purchased auras are permanent account unlocks.

How do I switch auras?

Open the aura menu in-game and select any aura you own. There is no cost to switch.

Does the Default Aura do anything?

Yes. It provides baseline sanity control that is enough for your first few climbs. You will feel the difference immediately when you upgrade to a purchased aura.
