Lore & Trivia
Overview
The Prestige system is a core progression mechanic in Attack on Titan Revolution, added in Patch 15 (January 12, 2024). When you prestige, you reset your level to 0 and lose your skill tree progression and ODM/TS grades — but you keep memories, perks, families, and cosmetics. In return, you gain permanent stat boosts that make every future playthrough stronger.
Players who have prestiged display a star (☆) next to their name, with the number of stars indicating their prestige level.

AOTR Prestige: What Resets vs. What You Keep
Understanding what is lost and retained is critical before prestiging.
Reset on Prestige
| Lost | Notes |
|---|---|
| Level | Resets to 0 |
| Skill Trees | ODM and Titan Skill trees reset |
| ODM/TS Grades | All gear grades are reset |
| Gold | Converted to gems (see Conversion below) |
Kept on Prestige
| Retained | Notes |
|---|---|
| Families | All families and their stats |
| Memories | Prestige Memories and Scrolls |
| Perks | Perk levels (after Patch 23) |
| Cosmetics | All unlocked attire, weapons, auras |
| Shift Abilities | Titan shifter abilities |
| Discord/Roblox Bonuses | Group XP and Gold multipliers |
How to Prestige
- Reach Level 100 + 100% EXP (full level 100)
- Each subsequent prestige requires +25 additional levels
- Open the Prestige menu in-game
- Choose 1 of 3 permanent boosts
- Confirm — your level and skill trees will reset
Prestige Level Requirements
Each prestige raises the level cap and the EXP requirement.
| Prestige | EXP Required | Level Needed | New Level Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1,952,500 | 100 | 125 |
| 2 | 3,429,553 | 125 | 150 |
| 3 | 5,265,320 | 150 | 175 |
| 4 | 7,334,070 | 175 | 200 |
| 5 | TBA | 200 | ~225 |
Note: EXP requirements were lowered in Patch 17. Prior values were significantly higher.
Buffs Earned Per Prestige
Each prestige grants the following permanent benefits:
Boost Choice (Pick 1 of 3)
| Boost | Effect per Prestige |
|---|---|
| +7.5% Luck | Increases rare item drop rates |
| +15% Gold | Doubles gold earned |
| +15% XP | Doubles experience gained |
Choose Luck if your goal is collecting rare items and cosmetics. Choose Gold or XP if you are still progressing through the level grind.
Permanent Buffs
| Buff | Effect |
|---|---|
| Gold → Gems Conversion | See table below |
| AFK Zone Gems | +10 gems per payout per prestige |
| Legendary Family Odds | +0.005% per prestige (not doubled by 2x events) |
| Prestige Memory Slot | +1 slot per prestige |
| Level Cap | +25 per prestige |
Gold-to-Gems Conversion Rate
All gold (max 500 million) is converted into gems at a rate that becomes more favorable at higher prestiges:
| Prestige | Gold : Gems Ratio |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1,500 : 1 |
| 2 | 1,250 : 1 |
| 3 | 1,000 : 1 |
| 4 | 1,000 : 1 |
Tip: Spend gold before prestiging to maximize gem conversion. At Prestige 1, every 1,500 gold becomes just 1 gem — so spending excess gold first is strongly recommended.
Prestige 5 (Update 4)
Prestige 5 is coming in Update 4 with the following changes:
- Prestige 3 and Prestige 5 will both grant +2 Memory Slots (instead of the standard +1)
- New level cap: approximately 225
- EXP requirement: TBA
As of April 2026, Prestige 5 has not yet been released. This page will be updated when the update drops.
AOTR Prestige Strategy Tips
When Should You Prestige?
It is recommended to have at least Prestige 1 before farming for rare items. The luck boost and additional memory slots make a significant difference in spin outcomes and drop rates.
However, prestiging too early (before level 100) is not possible, and prestiging before you have a strong family setup means you restart with a weak build.
Which Boost Should You Pick?
Most experienced players recommend always choosing the Luck boost:
- At max level, gold and XP become irrelevant — you no longer need to grind
- Luck directly increases rare item drop rates from spins, titans, and raids
- The maximum luck gain from all-in luck prestige is 30% (4 prestiges × 7.5%)
- Maximum for Gold or XP is 60% (4 × 15%), but these become less useful over time
Is It Worth Prestiging?
Yes, if you plan to play long-term. The permanent multipliers compound across prestiges, and each prestige cycle is faster than the last due to accumulated bonuses.
Key Reminders
- Level locking: Players are locked to their prestige level — you cannot play above your prestige's level cap
- Memories can be rerolled at any time using Prestige Scrolls — you do not need to prestige again to reroll
- Perk levels no longer reset as of Patch 23 (Update 1)
- Gold conversion cap: Maximum 500 million gold converts — any gold above this is lost
Prestige Memory System
Prestige Memories are powerful passive abilities unlocked through the Prestige system. They can be rerolled using Prestige Scrolls at any time.
See the Prestige Memories page on Fandom for the full memory list.

FAQ
What does prestige reset in AOTR?
Prestige resets your level, skill trees (ODM and Titan), and ODM/TS grades. You keep families, memories, perks, cosmetics, and shift abilities.
What is the best boost to choose when prestiging?
Luck (+7.5%) is widely considered the best long-term choice. At max level, gold and XP become irrelevant — only luck improves your chances at rare item drops.
How many times can you prestige in AOTR?
Currently 4 times (Prestige 1–4). Prestige 5 is coming in Update 4.
Does prestige affect family chances?
Yes. Each prestige adds +0.005% to Legendary family odds. This buff is not doubled during 2x Family Events.
Can I reroll my Prestige Memories?
Yes. Prestige Memories can be rerolled at any time using Prestige Scrolls, without needing to prestige again.
How much gold should I have before prestiging?
Spend as much gold as possible before prestiging — only up to 500 million converts to gems, and at poor ratios (1,500:1 at P1). Items, upgrades, and spins are all better uses of gold than letting it convert.
