Lore & Trivia
Overview
The Strikeborn Roblox early access build shipped on August 26, 2026, and the September 11 balance patch deleted several airborne routes that August footage still teaches. Critical stacks, perfect block versus perfect dodge, and up tilts swing duels far more than M1 speed does. This hub maps those systems across SSSStudio's battlegrounds fighter and routes you straight to the deep dives.
Verified by RoboLibrary Editorial on September 13, 2026 at 08:00 UTC: The systems, roster status, and balance changes below were cross-checked against the official Roblox experience listing and its public vote data, and against two independent recorded walkthroughs of the September 2026 build published on September 11 and 12, 2026. Roster roles that only one community source reports are marked as reported rather than confirmed.
What Strikeborn Roblox Is
Strikeborn is a four-hit-stinger fighter with a small skill bar, a dash resource, and a map built out of cliffs, waterfalls, wall-jump faces, and jump pads. The vertical arena is the design statement: aerial routing matters more here than on flat battlegrounds pads, and the September patch explicitly targeted the strongest airborne confirms.

Early-access entry was widely reported at roughly 400 Robux during the August 2026 launch window, and region age checks were reported alongside it. The official listing did not publish a price or an age gate in the review captured for this page, so treat the buy-in as a community figure and confirm it on the live purchase prompt before spending anything.
Complete Kits You Can Play Right Now
The select screen shows more portraits than finished movesets. Three kits are complete enough to main, one is in development, and two are placeholders that receive occasional single moves.
| Kit (in-game name) | Basis | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Vessel Sorcerer | Yuji Itadori | Complete |
| Black Swordsman | Guts | Complete, with an awakening delivered in 2026 |
| Ryomen Sukuna | Sukuna | Reported complete |
| Fire Fighter | Original fighter, white hair and red-black mechanical armor | In development, sneak peeks only |
| Jinchuriki | Naruto | Incomplete, described as M1-only |
| Gon | Hunter × Hunter | Incomplete, received one non-M1 move in September 2026 |
Every finished kit shares one skeleton: a four-hit M1 string with an uppercut somewhere in it, four skill slots with several directional and aerial variants, a dash resource on the HUD, and an ultimate or awakening that may still be unfinished on part of the roster. Ryomen Sukuna is the one entry here that community roster pages list as complete but the explainer footage reviewed for this page does not break down in full, so its status is reported rather than confirmed.
If you are choosing a first main, the Strikeborn tier list compares the three finished kits by range, pace, and mechanical demand.
The Critical Stack System Most Guides Miss
Most Strikeborn writing describes blocking and dodging as generic defensive options. They are not. Both feed a stack counter that changes your damage output, and that counter is the single largest skill expression in the game.
You gain one critical stack from each perfect block, each perfect dodge, and each finisher you land.
- One stack roughly doubles super slam damage. On the fist kit it also converts divergent fist, slide kick, and the counter kick into black flash variants. On other kits it only upgrades the super slam.
- Two stacks makes the character spark with lightning, a visible warning to everyone nearby. Your M1s, front dash, and back dash become guard breaking at roughly 2.2 times damage, and any move that lands inherits lightning or black flash.
- Extra stacks keep stacking. Players have reported strings such as a quadruple black flash plus three enhanced normals in a single sequence.
- Taking a single hit removes your stacks. Being the one who is sparking is a threat marker, not armor.
The list of moves that get an extra enhancement at high stacks includes slide kick, cursed beatdown, ironclad thrust, repeater, janken rock, pulverize, and carnage grip.
The defensive half of the system is a real split, not a preference:
| Action | Rule |
|---|---|
| Perfect dodge | Works against everything in the game if the timing is right, and briefly turns you invisible |
| Perfect block | Cannot stop guard breaking moves, which is why the greatsword's slots are so controversial |
| Side effect | Either perfect action slows the opponent's action by roughly half |
| Counts as a dodge | Back dash. Front dash does not count |
The combat and air combo guide walks through how to convert each of these into damage.
Why Strikeborn Roblox Fights Feel Different From TSB Clones
Four movement and combo rules separate Strikeborn's ceiling from the battlegrounds template it borrows from.
Up tilting. Mid-combo, you can launch an opponent upward, and that launch guard breaks them. A guard break means you can immediately run a second full M1 string on someone who was blocking. This is the reason the game rewards route knowledge over button speed, and it is absent from most battlegrounds fighters.
Down slam extends. Down slams extend a combo instead of ending it, and nearly every move on the fist kit can chain into one. Mistime it and the opponent counters or dodges out, so the extend is a read rather than a free action.
Air launch. Holding jump after the first or second M1 turns the third M1 into an air launch that forces both fighters into an aerial state. That state is true — it cannot be escaped by ragdoll input. The heavy sword kit's air launch behaves differently and does allow a ragdoll escape.
Front dash feints. Front dash sits on Q and can be cancelled by jumping mid-dash, which negates the hit and gives a small ground bounce. It reads as an approach and lands as a feint.
Layer on wall jumps, jump pads, and evasives — the escape input only works while you are ragdolled, and it doubles as a punish when you read a telegraphed down slam — and the movement system is the character, not a modifier on top of it.
Early Access Price, Age Gate, and the Free Build Condition
Strikeborn is not a free lobby you can idle into from the charts yet. The stated condition for a free public build is three complete characters rather than a calendar date, and community roster tracking reports that condition as now met by Vessel Sorcerer, Black Swordsman, and Ryomen Sukuna. No free-build announcement appeared in the September 11, 2026 patch, so treat a free release as pending until the developer says otherwise.
Two things are worth checking before you pay:
- The live purchase prompt. The reported buy-in was around 400 Robux at launch, but the official listing did not expose a price in this review.
- The age gate. Region checks were reported at launch, and an underage account will simply fail the join rather than error clearly.
If the listing refuses to join, private servers now exist and are created from the server list panel, which is a useful fallback the launch build did not have.
September 2026 First Update: What Changed
The September 11, 2026 patch was explicitly a balance pass aimed at the strongest combos. If your knowledge comes from August footage, several routes in it no longer work.
| Change | Effect |
|---|---|
| Air launch into forward dash | No longer extends combos |
| Super down slam | Now available with new knockback, but the forward dash extend no longer applies |
| Perfect dodge and perfect block | Nerfed, making the critical stack engine harder to run |
| Awakening | Increased by 25% |
| Awakened versus awakened | Damage set to 70% on both sides, lengthening fights |
| Air divergent fist | Ragdolls for less time, longer end lag, and no M1 immunity after landing |
| Janken scissors | New Gon move with air and hold variants; the hold variant breaks hyper armor |
| Devastation | New awakening move for the greatsword kit |
| Ironclad thrust | Space-hold variant and back dash variant added, with more consistent knockback |
| Repeater | Base variant now ragdolls on the final hit |
| Private servers and lock-on | Added, along with a redesigned shop interface |
The design intent is visible in the list: every nerf hits an airborne route or a defensive timing, and the only clear buffs go to awakening uptime and the two unfinished kits. The tier list covers what that means for pick order.
Codes, Spins, and Randomized Rewards
A reward code system now lives inside the shop interface, and the first observed code granted 1,500 coins. The Strikeborn codes page tracks the live string, the payout, and the redemption path, and it separates the code that has been observed in the current build from older strings that circulate without evidence.
Randomized rewards are a separate system from codes. The official listing discloses emotes and spins with rates displayed in game, which is the payout pool to expect if you are chasing cosmetics rather than coins.
FAQ
Is Strikeborn free to play?
Not yet. It is in paid early access, with entry widely reported at around 400 Robux during the August 2026 launch window. The stated condition for a free public build is three complete characters, and no free-build announcement shipped with the September 11, 2026 patch. Confirm the current price on the live purchase prompt.
How many characters are actually playable in Strikeborn?
Three kits are finished: Vessel Sorcerer, Black Swordsman, and Ryomen Sukuna. Fire Fighter is in development, and Jinchuriki and Gon are incomplete slots. Jinchuriki is still described as M1-only, while Gon gained one non-M1 move in September 2026.
What do critical stacks do?
They are the game's damage engine. One stack roughly doubles super slam damage and upgrades three fist-kit moves into black flash. Two stacks make your M1s, front dash, and back dash guard breaking at roughly 2.2 times damage and add lightning to any move that lands. Taking a hit wipes every stack you hold.
Can you perfect block everything in Strikeborn?
No. You can perfect dodge essentially anything with correct timing, but perfect block cannot stop guard breaking moves. That asymmetry is why blocking is the riskier defensive option and why the greatsword's guard breaking slots draw complaints.
Did the September 2026 update break old combos?
Yes, for several routes. Air launch into forward dash no longer extends, super down slam lost its forward dash extend, and air divergent fist lost M1 immunity while gaining end lag and a shorter ragdoll. Awakened fights also now run at 70% damage on both sides.
Where do Strikeborn codes appear?
The redemption box sits inside the shop interface, and the first observed code paid 1,500 coins. The codes page holds the verified string and the exact redemption steps.
