Cameraman Tower Defense units are placed from a five-slot hotbar inside a match, and the numbers that decide a run are placement cost, max DPS, and range rather than rarity. This page reconciles those figures from two independent readings of the in-game stat cards, lists the crate odds behind each unit, and flags where the readings and the community rankings disagree.

Lore & Trivia

Overview

Source: Cameraman Tower Defense official Roblox experience page, checked October 11, 2026. Official description: "Place cameraman and powerful units to fight back against invading toilets!" Unit stats are not published by the developer, so every figure below comes from recordings of the in-game stat cards.

The reason this page reads differently from most tower list pages is that it does not start from one source. Two separate creators read unit cards on camera in October 2026, and their readings agree on placement cost, max DPS, and range for 15 units. Where two independent readings of the same card agree, the number is published plainly here. Where they diverge, or where only one reading exists, the entry is marked as such.

That distinction matters because the differences between units are large enough to plan around. The cheapest unit on this list costs $100; the most expensive costs $2,000. A single match caps you at 15 placements.

Reconciled Unit Stats

These figures were read from in-game stat cards in two independent recordings. Placement cost is in-match cash. Max DPS is the final upgrade level.

UnitPlace costMax DPSRangeNotes
Scientist Cameraman$100Economy: 500 cash/wave—Four copies pay ~2,000/wave
Large Speakerman$18040015Weakest of the epics
Large Cameraman$20050020Cheap and reliable early
Ninja Cameraman$2001,00020Best damage per cash measured
Camera Helicopter$200Spawner: allies to 10,000 HP—Blockers, not damage
Engineer Cameraman$200Spawner: 3,000 DPS allies—Zero damage until maxed
Laser Cameraman Car$3002,50030Final upgrade is the big one
Large Scientist Cameraman$3001,25020Area damage, handles shields
Jetpack Cameraman$3005,00030Boss killer, paid pack only
Large TV Man$40050020Area damage, reported shield problem
Titan Speakerman$5002,00025Cheap legendary
Titan Cameraman$8003,000–3,30030Final upgrade doubles damage
TV Man$1,0002,00025Area damage, reported shield problem
Upgraded Titan Speakerman$1,0005,00025Area damage, handles shields at max
Titan Cinemaman$2,0007,00030Area damage, handles shields

Three details do not fit in the columns.

Engineer Cameraman deals no damage until it is maxed. For its first five upgrade levels its summoned helpers only block the path. At maximum each helper hits for around 3,000 per second with 100,000 health, and a new one arrives roughly every 20 seconds. Judging it before the final upgrade is the single most common mistake with this unit.

Glitch Cameraman's lobby card and its in-match card disagree. The card shown in the lobby reports 27 range while the number inside a match maxes at 25. Its final upgrade reportedly triples damage rather than doubling it.

Several units never appeared in a graded reading at all. Upgraded Brute Prototype (reported around 9,000 area DPS, roughly 41,000 cash to max), Upgraded Videotapper Prototype (reported around 7,500 DPS at 35 range, with a final upgrade that doubles attack speed rather than damage), TV Spider (reported around 10,000 area DPS at 40 range), Camera Spider, Speaker Spider, Speakerwoman, TV Woman, Dark Camerawoman, Popcorn Cameraman, and the basic filler units have single-source or partial figures only. Treat those as reported, not confirmed.

Where Community Rankings Contradict Each Other

Two independent community rankings of this roster exist, and they disagree. Neither is official — the developer publishes no tier list — and neither discloses a sample size.

UnitRanking A placementRanking B placement
TV ManLowest tier, described as crate fillerNear the top, described as strong
Ninja CameramanSecond tierNear the top
Laser Cameraman CarThird tierNear the top
Large Scientist CameramanThird tierNear the top
Titan CinemamanTop tierTop tier
Upgraded Titan SpeakermanSecond tierTop tier
Engineer CameramanTop tierTop tier
Scientist CameramanSecond tierTop tier

The TV Man split is the widest and the most instructive. One ranking places it at the bottom alongside basic crate filler; the other places it among the strongest units in the game. Both readings of its stat card agree it does 2,000 DPS at 25 range for a $1,000 placement cost, so the disagreement is not about numbers — it is about how much its area damage and its reported difficulty with shielded enemies are worth.

That is a judgment call, not a fact, which is why this page publishes the stat table and shows the split rather than grading units itself. If you want one heuristic that survives the disagreement: compare max DPS against placement cost. Ninja Cameraman at 1,000 DPS for $200 and Large Cameraman at 500 DPS for $200 both score well, while TV Man asks $1,000 for 2,000 DPS.

Why This Page Will Not Give You a Unit Count

You will find published totals of 15, 21, and 30 units for this game. All three are traceable, and none of them supports a confident claim.

  • 15 is the number of units in a graded ranking. It is a count of what was ranked, not of what exists.
  • 21 comes from a community wiki page that predates Update 3.
  • 30 is a post-Update 3 claim from a single source with no roster list attached.

The honest answer is that the developer does not publish a roster count, and the game updates several times a day, so any total is stale quickly. This page lists the 15 units with directly read stat cards and names the others it knows of, which is more useful than a number that is wrong.

Crate Odds Behind These Units

Most strong units come from crates rather than the Shop shelf, and the odds are steep enough to change what you should chase.

CrateCostOdds as captured
Spider Crate100 gems per summon90% Speaker Spider, 9.8% Camera Spider, 0.2% TV Spider
Scientist Crate49 / 139 / 399 Robux89% / 10% / 1%, with Engineer Cameraman on the 1%
Basic CrateIn-match currencyBasic, uncommon and rare pulls make up roughly 95%; one slot is shared at 1-in-1,000
Woman CrateNot purchasable, win drop onlyDrops 10% of the time on Insane and 2% on Easy

Two consequences follow. The Basic Crate rotates its featured units every 20 minutes, so summoning when the unit you want is showing is a real lever rather than superstition. And the Woman Crate cannot be bought at all — it only drops after a win, which makes its units a function of how often you clear Insane rather than how much you spend.

The Spider Crate's rare slot works out to roughly one TV Spider per 500 summons at 100 gems each. Reported footage noted only 14 copies in the game shortly after launch.

FAQ

Which unit should I place first? Ninja Cameraman, at $200 to place and roughly $1,800 to max for about 1,000 DPS. It is the cheapest credible carry and two independent readings agree on its numbers.

Should I ever sell a unit? Yes. Removing a unit refunds half its placement cost, so trading a maxed starter for a carry once you can afford one is normal play rather than a loss.

Is rarity a reliable guide to power? No. TV Man is a legendary that one ranking puts in the bottom tier, while Scientist Cameraman is purely an economy unit that most rankings place near the top because 500 cash per wave compounds.

What is the highest DPS on this list? Titan Cinemaman at 7,000 DPS for a $2,000 placement, confirmed by both readings. Higher figures circulate for the Update 3 mythics and for TV Spider, but each rests on a single source and is reported rather than confirmed.

Do the same unit names exist in other Roblox games? Yes. Toilet Tower Defense and several other toilet-themed tower defenses reuse names like Titan Cameraman and Cameraman entirely independently. Stats do not carry across.
