Overview

Anime Squadron is an anime-themed lane battler on Roblox where you summon units, equip them with traits, evolve them into stronger forms, and deploy squads to defend against waves of enemies. Progression follows a clear arc: collect units, level them up, evolve them to Secret rarity, and optimize your squad composition for increasingly difficult content.

This guide covers everything a new player needs in their first session and beyond. It is structured in recommended action order: what to do immediately, how to farm efficiently, how to build your first squad, and how to prioritize evolution investments.

Day 1: Immediate Actions

Follow these steps in order the moment you enter the game for the first time.

Step 1 — Redeem All Active Codes

Before doing anything else, click the Codes button on the left menu and enter every active code listed on the Anime Squadron Codes page. This can yield thousands of Gems, Gold, Trait Shards, Perfect Cubes, and Reroll Cubes — a massive head start that bypasses hours of early grinding.

Some codes may have expiration windows. If a code returns an expired message, skip it and move to the next one.

Step 2 — Summon Your First Unit

Head to the summoning banner and spend your starting Gems on pulls. Your immediate goal is to obtain at least one Mythic or strong Legendary unit to serve as your primary DPS carry. The first Mythic is guaranteed within 50 pulls — do not panic if you do not hit a Mythic immediately.

Prioritize the following base units if they appear:

  • Goku — Mythic base, evolution component for Gogeta (SSJ4)
  • Vegeta — Mythic base, evolution component for Gogeta (SSJ4)
  • Rizzuto (Sage) — Mythic base with strong standalone DPS
  • Karashi (Sharingan) — Mythic base, excellent speed for early clears

If you pull a Legendary unit, do not dismiss it — some Legendaries have strong standalone value and can carry early Story Mode comfortably.

Step 3 — Build a Basic Squad

Open your inventory and select your strongest units. A functional early-game squad follows this role distribution:

  • 1–2 DPS units — Your primary damage dealers
  • 1 Tank unit — Frontline survivability (Shield Hero if available)
  • 1 Economy unit — Fastwagon generates passive Gold; always include him
  • 1–2 Flex slots — Additional DPS or support based on your pool

Step 4 — Begin Story Mode

Enter Story Mode and start clearing acts on Normal difficulty. Focus your in-match Gold upgrades on your highest-DPS unit rather than spreading investments across weak units — a single maxed-out carry outperforms three half-upgraded units.

Step 5 — Unlock the Selection Banner at Level 10

Reach Level 10 to unlock the Selection Banner, which allows targeted summons for specific units. This is the most efficient way to chase high-priority units like Goku or Vegeta if you are missing fusion components.

Step 6 — Enter Raids at Level 15

Before ending your first session, push toward Level 15 to unlock Raids — the primary source of high-end evolution materials and Secret-rarity unit chances. Even if you cannot clear Raid bosses yet, unlocking the mode ensures you can participate as soon as your squad is ready.

Farming Priorities

Understanding resource flow is critical to efficient progression.

Method Yield Best For
Story Mode Baseline Gems + Gold Early progression and material unlocks
Squadron Mode Performance-scaled rewards Active farming once carry is established
Raids High materials + Gem rewards Level 15+ players with evolved units
Infinite Mode Gacha bags scaling with waves 3 daily boosts; best for Trait Shards
Daily Codes Variable Log in and redeem regularly

Always include Fastwagon in your squad. His passive Gold generation compounds across every run, enabling faster upgrades and earlier deployment of expensive units.

Evolution System

Evolving a unit transforms their base form into a stronger version with higher base stats. Evolution is the most cost-effective path to top-tier units.

Fusion Path: Gogeta (SSJ4)

The most efficient evolution strategy targets the fusion path from Goku + Vegeta to Gogeta (SSJ4):

Base Unit Role Final Form Requirements
Goku Mythic DPS Gogeta (SSJ4) Primal Fusion quest + Primal Core
Vegeta Mythic DPS Gogeta (SSJ4) Primal Fusion quest + Primal Core

Both Goku and Vegeta must be obtained and leveled before the fusion quest becomes available. The Primal Core is obtained from late Story Mode acts or Raids.

Evolution Tips

  • Reroll traits before evolving. Traits carry over through evolution. Lock in your ideal trait (Superior or Cloner) before spending evolution materials.
  • Evolve your primary DPS first. A single max-evolved carry outperforms two partially evolved units.
  • Do not evolve everything at once. Focus on one high-priority evolution at a time to avoid spreading materials too thin.
  • Roll traits BEFORE evolving. The pity system resets on evolution, so lock in your desired trait on the base form first.

Team Composition

A great squad in Anime Squadron fills four key roles: DPS, Tank, Support, and Economy. Rarity does not guarantee effectiveness — role synergy and proper evolution investment matter more than stacking Secret-tier units.

Beginner Squad (Starting Out)

Recommended for: New players with limited unit pools and no evolved units.

  • DPS: Any Mythic or strong Legendary you pulled in Step 2
  • Tank: Shield Hero (excellent even at base form)
  • DPS x2: Your two best remaining damage dealers
  • Economy: Fastwagon — passive resource generation compounds your early economy

Replace Legendary DPS units with Mythics as you pull them. Evolve your best Mythic and transition toward the META squad below.

META Squad (General Content)

Recommended for: Story Mode late acts, Squadron challenges, and high-level content.

Slot Unit Role Notes
1 Gogeta (SSJ4) Primary DPS Top-tier damage and survivability
2 Woo (Shadow) Secondary DPS Shadow summons add board presence
3 Shanks Support Damage reduction aura for whole squad
4 Shield Hero Tank Damage redirection protects backline
5 Fastwagon Economy Essential for all content
6 Flex Boss/Madara Swap based on content type

Squad Composition Mistakes to Avoid

  • All DPS, no Tank — Without a frontline, enemies reach your damage dealers and your squad collapses. Always include Shield Hero or another tank.
  • Multiple Economy units — One Fastwagon is enough. Duplicates drastically reduce combat power for marginal income gains.
  • Ignoring trait synergy — A unit with Superior or Cloner can outperform a higher-rarity unit with a D-tier trait. Prioritize trait quality over raw rarity.

Progression Milestones

Key Unlock Levels

Milestone Level What It Unlocks
Selection Banner 10 Targeted summons for specific units
Raids 15 High-end materials and Secret unit chances
Harder difficulties Varies Increased Gem and Gold rewards per clear

Power Milestones

Milestone What It Means
First Mythic pull Your first competitive unit; begin building around it
First evolution Major power spike; update squad composition
50-pull Mythic pity reached Guaranteed Mythic; target your weakest role slot
Gogeta (SSJ4) obtained One of the strongest units in the game; forms backbone of any DPS squad
Selection Banner unlocked Sustainable targeting for missing fusion components

Common Traps

The Health Perk Trap

Do not upgrade the Health perk early. It provides minimal value compared to Max Yen and Yen Generation perks, which accelerate your economy and enable faster unit upgrades. Health upgrades are a late-game luxury, not an early priority.

Spreading Resources Too Thin

New players often try to upgrade six units equally. This is inefficient. Focus all resources on one primary DPS carry until that unit can clear the next content breakpoint. Only then invest in secondary units.

Wasting Reroll Materials on Filler

Trait Shards and Perfect Cubes are limited resources. Do not reroll traits on Common or Rare units you will replace soon. Save reroll attempts for Mythic and Secret units you plan to keep long-term.

Ignoring the Economy

Fastwagon may seem weak in combat, but his Gold generation is the foundation of your progression. Players who skip the economy unit fall behind significantly in upgrade speed and deployment timing.
