Lore & Trivia
Overview
Roll a Fisherman is FISH X SPEEDI's idle fishing tycoon, launched August 5, 2026, where six-player servers compete on dock output. Roll a fisherman, dock them, collect the baskets, park the strongest catches on a stand for cash per second — offline included — then spend Gold on permanent stats. This hub maps that loop, the three currencies, the 100,000 rebirth gate, six game passes and live platform figures, while the codes page and beginner guide carry the detail.
Verified by RoboLibrary Editorial on September 28, 2026: Game identity, live player counts, visit and favourite totals, vote totals, server capacity and the full game-pass list were read from the official Roblox listing and Roblox platform endpoints. Mechanics were cross-checked against recorded walkthroughs of the September 2026 build published September 23–27, 2026. Figures read off footage, such as per-second stand income, are labelled approximate because the developer publishes no stat tables.
What Roll a Fisherman Actually Asks You to Do
The official how-to-play text is four lines long, and it is accurate: roll a fisherman, place them on the dock, collect the fish and put it on the stand, collect cash and upgrade. What the four lines hide is that each step is a separate gated system with its own resource.
| System | What it consumes | What it produces |
|---|---|---|
| Roll pedestal | Cash per candidate | A fisherman added to your inventory |
| Dock | Free dock slots | Fish that accumulate until collected |
| Stand | Free stand slots | Cash per second, online and offline |
| Upgrade shrine | Gold | Permanent stats that raise everything above |
| Luck Roll wheel | Spins | Gold, large Cash sums, or a free fish |
| Rebirth | A Cash threshold | Reset plus a permanent multiplier |
A fisherman sitting in your backpack produces nothing. Every recorded walkthrough of this build makes the same point in the same way: the dock should never have an empty slot, even if the unit filling it is a starter pull.
The Dock Loop in Order
The loop that actually pays, in the order the recordings do it:
- Roll at the pedestal. Candidates appear with a Cash price tag attached, and a candidate you cannot afford cannot be deployed — so a 15,000,000 Cash Clown Timmy appearing on a new account is a dead result, not a decision.
- Place the fisherman on an open dock slot. Placed fishermen cast automatically and store catches in their own basket.
- Collect the catches, then let Equip Best sort them. The button equips your highest-earning fish to your stands and sells the surplus in the same action.
- Sell anything the stands cannot take. A batch of leftovers is worth roughly 1,000 Cash in early accounts; a placed swordfish was recorded producing about $225 per second in the same session.
- Bank toward the rebirth threshold rather than toward one expensive roll.
The reversal worth knowing: Equip Best applies separately to fishermen and to fish. Running it once and assuming both are sorted leaves half your dock on the weaker set.
Cash, Gold and Spins Do Different Jobs
Treating the three currencies as interchangeable is the most common early mistake, because they are not substitutes at any point.
- Cash is the working currency. It buys roll candidates, and it is the currency the rebirth gate counts. Sitting on Cash does nothing except move you toward a rebirth.
- Gold is the permanent currency. It is spent on stats rather than on units, and it is the only currency that improves rolls you have not taken yet. Recorded sessions show Gold arriving from the Luck Roll wheel in 50-Gold increments and in bulk from codes.
- Spins are the only way to operate the wheel without paying. Code rewards delivered 5 spins in total across the documented strings, and a single wheel run in footage paid 50 Gold, then 1,000,000 Cash, then a fish.
The practical split: Cash decisions are reversible in an hour, Gold decisions are not reversible at all, and spins should be spent rather than hoarded because their payout includes a 1,000,000 Cash result.
The 100,000 Cash Rebirth Gate
The first rebirth is the single largest step change in the game and it is gated at 100,000 Cash. Two independent lines of evidence agree on that number: the in-game requirements panel shown in recorded footage, and community coverage of the rebirth ladder.
Recorded footage shows the gate reopening around 3,000,000 Cash on an account that had already rebirthed, and community coverage puts the same stage in a 3,750,000 band — close enough to treat as the same stage and far enough apart that the exact figure should be read from your own requirements panel.
What a rebirth resets is reported rather than published. Community coverage states that the Cash balance drops to zero while unlocked fishermen, the fish inventory and dock upgrades carry over, which is what makes rebirthing early strictly better than hoarding. The developer has not published a table of what each stage grants, and the multipliers quoted in community coverage contradict each other — one page calls the first rebirth a 1.5x money multiplier and, later on the same page, a threefold boost to rolling luck. Neither has been confirmed, so neither is repeated here as a figure.
Equip Best and the Inventory Trap
Equip Best is the single highest-value button in the interface and the one most often used incorrectly.
It does two things at once when applied to fish: it moves your highest-earning catches onto stands, and it sells the catches that no longer have a slot. The consequence is that running it before you have collected every fisherman's basket can liquidate a fish you were about to place. Recorded sessions consistently collect first and press Equip Best second, and one of them says so explicitly — the player collected the money before equipping, out of fear of losing the catch.
There is a second trap underneath it. Late-game milestone requirements in community coverage reference holding specific species such as an Orca and a Squid, and the Auto Sell pass liquidates by rarity tier. A rarity threshold set too high will discard exactly the fish that a later gate asks you to be holding.
Six Game Passes and What They Change
Six passes are published on the official listing. Names and on-sale status below come from the platform listing itself.
| Game Pass | Published description | On sale |
|---|---|---|
| x2 Money | Permanently doubles stand Cash generation | Yes |
| x2 Fishing Speed | Your Fishers fish 2 times faster | Yes |
| +2 Fish Slots | +2 Fish slots in your base | No |
| x2 Roll Speed | Roll fishers 2 times faster | Yes |
| Auto Collect | Auto collect fish from fishers | Yes |
| Auto Sell | Auto sell fish | Yes |
The listed Robux prices for these passes are not exposed by any public Roblox endpoint. Figures circulate in community coverage, but none of them can be confirmed against the platform, so this page does not repeat them.
Auto Collect is the pass that changes the shape of a session rather than its speed: it removes the collection sweep entirely, which is the only part of the loop that requires you to be at the dock. x2 Roll Speed accelerates the gacha animation rather than the odds.
Codes in the Official Listing
The official Roblox description carries a CODES block naming seven strings: RELEASE, UPDATE1, UPDATE2, GOLD, UPGRADES, FISHING and SEALS. Circulating tracker lists stop at the first five. The two that were added with later updates have no documented reward anywhere yet, which is worth knowing before you assume a dead code.
Five of the seven have a reward confirmed on screen by more than one recording: 5,000 Cash, 3 spins, 2 spins, 300 Gold and 500 Gold. The total claimable value on a fresh account is therefore 5,000 Cash, 5 wheel spins and 800 Gold — enough for the 5,000 Cash fisherman tier plus ten wheel pulls. The full breakdown, the exact code box location and the redemption path are on the codes page.

FAQ
What is Roll a Fisherman on Roblox?
An idle fishing tycoon released August 5, 2026 by the group FISH X SPEEDI. You roll for fishermen, place them on a dock, collect the fish they catch automatically, move the best catches onto a stand for cash per second, and spend the proceeds on more rolls and upgrades.
Does Roll a Fisherman earn money while you are offline?
Yes, and the official how-to-play text says so directly. Deployed fishermen and filled stands keep producing while you are logged out, which is why the pre-logout routine matters more than any single session's income.
How much Cash is the first rebirth?
100,000 Cash. Both the in-game requirements panel in recorded footage and community coverage of the ladder agree on that threshold.
Which Roll a Fisherman game pass is worth buying first?
Auto Collect changes the session the most, because it removes the collection sweep that forces you back to the dock. x2 Money multiplies the output you already have, and x2 Roll Speed only shortens a menu animation.
Why does a fisherman appear that I cannot afford?
Roll candidates display their price and cannot be deployed without the Cash to match. High-rarity units such as Clown Timmy were recorded at roughly 15,000,000 Cash, so an unaffordable candidate on an early account is simply a later-game result.
