Playground Basketball Gamepasses and Store Prices

Playground Basketball sells 34 live gamepasses and not one of them raises an attribute, a badge tier or an overall rating — the most expensive utility item in the store is the one that makes new builds cheaper. This page lists every entry with its Robux price, groups them by what they actually change, sorts out the mascot ladder, and dates the ten passes that have been pulled, which is how you can tell which season the game is really on.

Lore & Trivia
What the Store Sells and What It Will Not Sell
Playground Basketball sells 34 live gamepasses, and none of them raises an attribute, a badge tier or an overall rating — the most expensive utility item in the store is the pass that makes a new build cheaper. The catalogue sorts into convenience, cosmetic, mascot, bundle and VIP groups, plus one season pass per season, and eight of the fourteen mascots sit under a LIMITED tag rather than in a price band of their own. The only premium entry with a shelf life is the live one at 349 Robux, which is how a stale guide gives itself away.
| Group | Entries | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Convenience | 6 | Coins earned, build cost, build slots, UI visibility |
| Cosmetic and audio | 3 | Shirt state, green-release sounds, intro animations |
| Seasonal pass | 2 | Pass rewards for the live and previous season |
| VIP | 1 | Unspecified perks, bundle-style |
| Mascots | 14 | Appearance only |
| Bundles | 8 | Appearance and effects |
The ceiling claim is worth stating plainly because it is the question every new player asks: you cannot buy your way to a 99 overall. Overall comes from investment, badges come from playing the action the badge rewards, and the store never intersects either track.
The three passes that come closest are 2X Coins (299), Extra Slots (299) and Cheap Builds (799), and they all attack time rather than power. 2X Coins doubles the currency the codes also pay. Extra Slots widens how many builds you can hold at once. Cheap Builds lowers what a new build costs you — and at 799 Robux it is the most expensive utility item in the store, 250 more than VIP.
That price ordering is the tell. In a game whose build creator asks you for six interlocking decisions, the biggest friction a paying player hits is rerolling a build they got wrong, and the store prices accordingly.

Eight of the fourteen mascots carry the LIMITED tag, which is unusual for a live-service store: limited means the developer has committed to withdrawing them, so the ones currently listed are the residual of events that have already run.
Mascots: One Ladder With One Outlier
Fourteen mascot entries, and thirteen of them sit on three prices: 399, 499 and 599 Robux. The LIMITED tag sorts them inside those bands — in the 399 band four mascots are untagged and one, Big OZ, carries the tag; the two at 499 are both untagged; and all six at 599 are tagged LIMITED. Eight of the fourteen carry the tag in total.
Then there is Horsey at 1,299, more than double the next most expensive mascot and above every bundle and cosmetic in the store. Nothing explains the gap, and there is no mechanical reason for it: mascots are cosmetic, so the premium is rarity signalling or event scarcity rather than function.
The practical read is that mascot prices are not a value ladder you should climb. If a specific mascot is not what you want, paying 599 for a different one buys an identical player. The only part of the category worth paying for is the look you will actually stare at for a hundred matches.
What 349 Robux Buys in the Current Season
The seasonal pass is the only entry in the store with a visible shelf life, and the shelf life is how the store dates itself.
Season Pass Premium 5 costs 349 Robux and it is the live pass. Premium 4 is still listed at the same 349, and everything earlier has been pulled: Season 1's entry is named Premium Ground Pass, Season 2's is Premium Pass, and Season Pass Premium 3 sits in the offsale set. Two consecutive seasons priced identically is a deliberate choice rather than an accident — the value of the pass is meant to be the season's content, not the price.
What the pass gives you beyond cosmetics, per recorded walkthroughs from two different creators: it runs to level 40, and it pays out 2x XP tokens for build progression plus 2x Ground Pass tokens of its own. The second part is why the pass compounds — it accelerates the track it is on.
One detail is worth flagging because it looks wrong on screen: a creator's pass display was captured reading level 78, past the level 40 cap. Whatever that counter is, it is not the pass level, so do not read a high number as a long way still to go.
Ten Passes You Can No Longer Buy
Ten entries sit in the offsale set, and they are the cleanest available record of the game's monetisation history.
| Pulled entry | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Season 1 Premium Ground Pass | Ground Pass was the original name for the seasonal pass |
| Season 2 Premium Pass | The name shortened at Season 2 |
| Season Pass Premium 3 | Season 3 ran and closed |
| Starter Pack / Standard | The starter bundle was once split into two tiers |
| Starter Pack / Legend | The higher tier of that split |
| (COMING SOON) 2X Workout XP | An XP pass was planned and never shipped |
| Buff Tiger Mascot | A mascot that no longer exists in the store |
| [LIMITED] Hoop Fest Bundle | Event bundle, event closed |
| [LIMITED] Grinch Bundle | Holiday bundle, holiday closed |
| alersi | Titled with what looks like a username — a test upload that was never cleaned up |
Two of those are more useful than the rest. The (COMING SOON) 2X Workout XP entry shows the developer intended a second progression pass and abandoned it, which is why no such pass exists to buy now. And the unauthored alersi entry is the kind of leftover that only appears in a store that ships updates near-daily: the root place was updated on October 25, 2026, and this entry survived alongside it.
Store Questions Players Ask First
Does any gamepass make your player better?
Not directly. Nothing in the store sells attributes, badge tiers or overall rating. 2X Coins, Cheap Builds and Extra Slots are the three closest, and each one removes time or adds a slot rather than raising a cap.
What does VIP actually give you?
549 Robux, and no official listing of the perks. A community write-up claims a permanent 1.15x reputation multiplier and a chat tag; neither appears on the developer's pages, so budget for "perks, unspecified" rather than a specific multiplier.
Why is Cheap Builds more expensive than VIP?
Because a wrong build is the most expensive mistake in the game. The build creator combines position, height, weight and two archetypes, and the pass that lowers the cost of redoing it is priced above the general perks bundle.
Which season pass is live?
Season Pass Premium 5 at 349 Robux. Premium 4 sits next to it at the same price and everything from Season 1 through Season 3 is offsale, so any guide pointing at the Season 3 pass is out of date.
Are mascots worth buying?
Only for appearance. Fourteen mascots span 399 to 1,299 Robux and none of them change a stat, so the price reflects rarity rather than advantage.
