Vampire Life
Vampire Life Beginner Guide – First Session, Turning & Sunlight
A first-session route for Vampire Life on Roblox: what to do before you get turned, how to find the witch book, why sunlight kills new vampires, and the fixes for the four failures that stall new players.
Guide Details
Vampire Life kills new players with a daylight trap. Stay Human, bank villager quests, then accept a bite — and the sun that was harmless minutes earlier starts draining health. Sunlight, not combat, ends most first sessions. Interiors, castle rooms and night travel are safe; open streets and city guards are not. Turning needs another player: vampire bites human, no menu, no purchase, no solo toggle. Witch is separate work — search the map for a randomly spawning book. Guards one-shot low levels, blood needs feeding, and a cape demanded level 100 in recorded footage. Four failures end new accounts, and every fix here is a relocation instead of a fight.
Verified by RoboLibrary Editorial on September 28, 2026: The turning rule, sunlight damage, guard lethality, blood management and the level-gated shop item were cross-checked against two independently recorded walkthroughs of the September 2026 public-test build. The witch book search, the vampire-sense keybind and the death and revival behaviour are reported from a single recording and are labelled as reported rather than confirmed. Level thresholds, Original odds and aging mechanics are not published by the developer, so this guide describes them as undocumented instead of estimating them.
First Session Order
Four phases, and the order matters more than the speed.
1. Spend the opening hour as a Human, deliberately. This is the phase most new players skip, and it is the one that decides whether the rest of the session is painful. As a Human you can walk around in daylight, villagers hand out quests, and recorded footage shows quests paying Money — one villager interaction paid out around 500. None of that stops working when you turn; it just becomes much harder to do, because the sun does.
Redeem the working codes before you start rather than when you need them. Several of the strings are XP multipliers, and a multiplier applied during your Human phase is worth more than the same multiplier applied while you are hiding indoors from the sun.
2. Decide which path you are actually taking. Vampire and witch are not variations on the same route:
| Vampire | Witch | |
|---|---|---|
| How it starts | Another player bites and infects you | You find a book that spawns in a random location |
| Can you do it solo | No — it needs a second player | Yes, it is a search |
| What changes | Sunlight becomes lethal; you gain bite and abilities | A separate ability set, including Pain Affliction |
| Best done | After you have banked levels | Whenever you find the book |
3. Turn, then get indoors. Not "then continue questing" — indoors. The transformation does not pause the day cycle, and the recording that captured a turning also captured the same player being killed by guards a short time later.
4. Move your progress to the night. Night is the only window where a vampire can travel freely, so plan the daylight hours for sheltered activities and the dark hours for hunting, traveling and leveling.
Getting Turned Without Dying Trying
The single most common misconception about this game is that becoming a vampire is a choice you make in a menu. It is not. You have to be bitten by another player who is already a vampire. Both recorded walkthroughs of the build agree on this, and neither shows any purchase, prompt or solo route.
That makes the real obstacle social rather than mechanical: you need another player to cooperate. In practice, that means:
- Ask in chat rather than waiting to be attacked. A random bite is possible, but you have no control over where it leaves you or what is happening around you when it lands.
- Plan where you want to turn. Because sunlight becomes lethal immediately, being turned in an open street or in a city full of guards is the worst possible outcome. Being turned near the castle or a building gives you somewhere to go.
- Keep your blood in check once you turn. Recorded footage shows a blood meter that has to be maintained, and feeding is the mechanic that maintains it. A vampire who ignores it is managing two problems at once instead of one.
One more detail worth knowing before you commit: recorded footage shows a player noting that the change is reversible and they could return to being Human. If the vampire path is not working for you, that route back exists.
The Witch Book Route
The witch path is not a bite, and it is not a shop purchase. According to a recorded walkthrough of the September 2026 build, you search the map for a special book that spawns in a random location, and because the spawn is not fixed, the search is different each time.
Three consequences follow, and they change how you should play the attempt:
- There is no route to memorise. A fixed spawn can be farmed by learning the location; a random one cannot. Expect the search itself to be the time cost.
- This is the solo-friendly path. Unlike turning, it does not require another player's cooperation, which makes it the better choice if you are playing alone or on a quiet server.
- The exact interaction is single-sourced. The book search is reported from one recording and is not corroborated by the developer's board or a second independent video. Treat the specifics as reported. What the developer board does confirm independently is that Witches are one of four races alongside Vampires, Werewolves and Humans, with their own ability tree that includes Pain Affliction.
Playing as a Human While You Wait
If no vampire will bite you and you have not found the book, the Human phase is not a waiting room — it is the most efficient Money and XP window you will get.
- Quests come from villagers and other NPCs scattered across the map. Talking to them starts objectives, and completing them pays Money and XP. Several recordings show a quest tracker or an auto-quest option that keeps the current objective visible.
- Villagers are also food. Recorded footage shows a player able to eat a villager outright, which is a feeding route that does not require another player.
- Guards are the tax on this phase. They are hostile NPCs in the cities, and recorded footage shows one killing a low-level player in a single hit. The cities are where the quests are, so the skill being taught here is knowing when to leave.
There is one piece of vampire-adjacent equipment worth buying early even as a Human: a vampire hat is reported to protect against sun damage, and the footage that shows it shows the player wearing it specifically for that reason. The developer publishes no protection value, so treat the effect as reported.
Sunlight and the Night Window
Sunlight is the mechanic that reorganises everything else, and it is confirmed by both independent recordings:
- Direct sun damages a vampire continuously and can kill quickly if you stay exposed.
- Interiors are safe. Buildings and the castle are the standard shelter, which makes them the places to be when the day turns.
- Night is the free window. No sun damage, and therefore the time for travel, hunting and progression.
Think of the day cycle as a budget. If you spend daylight on outdoor objectives as a vampire, you are paying in health for something a Human could have done for free an hour earlier. The correct play is almost always to move the outdoor work into the night and the sheltered work into the day.
Money and XP: Where the Early Gains Are
Two currencies, two very different sources.
XP comes from villager and NPC quests, and — after you turn — from biting and eliminating other players. The quest route is safe and repeatable; the vampire route pays more but puts you in front of the guards. This is why the pre-turn level bank matters: leveling also improves your chance of becoming an Original, which the listing names as the long-term goal without ever publishing a threshold or an odd.
Money comes from the same quests plus code redemptions, and it buys survival gear rather than power. One code alone credited 20,000 Money in recorded footage. Note that the developer board lists a wide equipment set — Lantern, Night Vision, Verbena, a Praesidium Potion, a Metal Ring and a Human Potion — most of which is not yet documented in footage.
Here is the trap: the shop is gated by level, not only by price. Recorded footage shows a cape purchase refused because the item required level 100. Money alone will not unlock it.
When the Route Fails: Symptoms and Fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Died immediately after being turned | Sunlight damage started while you were outdoors in daytime | Move to a building or the castle the moment you turn; travel at night |
| Killed almost instantly in a city | Guard NPCs are hostile and lethal to low-level players | Leave the city, or clear the quest objective before the guards reach you |
| Health draining with no attacker nearby | Sun exposure, or a blood meter that needs feeding | Get indoors and feed; check the meter before blaming another player |
| Cannot buy the item you want despite having Money | The item is level-gated — a cape required level 100 in recorded footage | Level first; spend early Money on survival gear instead |
| Cannot turn into a vampire at all | There is no self-turn route in this game | Ask another vampire player to bite you, or take the witch book route instead |
| Code says it redeemed but the screen is frozen | Known redeem-panel freeze after a successful claim | Press Left Ctrl; the reward was already credited |
Three of these are recovery actions rather than prevention. The sun and guard rows are the same problem seen twice — this game punishes a new vampire for standing where a new Human was safe, and the fix is relocation, not combat.
Where to Go Next
- Need Money or XP before you turn? The Vampire Life codes page lists the live strings, their reported rewards and the redemption route.
- Want the systems rather than the route? The Vampire Life wiki hub covers the two starting paths, the race and ability structure from the developer board, and all nine official game passes.
- Wondering whether the game is worth the time investment? The hub carries a dated player snapshot; check the date on it before you decide.
FAQ
What should I do first in Vampire Life?
Bank levels and Money as a Human before you accept a bite, and redeem the XP codes while you do it. Sunlight only starts damaging you after you turn, so the quest loop is far easier to run beforehand — and the progress carries into the vampire path.
How do I become a vampire in Vampire Life?
Another player who is already a vampire has to bite and infect you. There is no menu, purchase or solo route in any recording, so the practical constraint is finding a willing vampire rather than finding a mechanic.
Why do I keep dying right after becoming a vampire?
Sunlight. The moment you turn, direct sun deals continuous damage, and the map is usually in daylight. Move indoors immediately — buildings and the castle are safe — and do your traveling and hunting at night.
Can I become a witch instead of a vampire?
Yes, and it is a different route entirely. Witch requires finding a book that spawns in a random location, so it is a search rather than a step you can memorise. It is also the only one of the two paths that does not need a second player.
What should I spend my first Money on?
Survival equipment rather than cosmetics, and check the level requirement before you budget for anything. A cape was refused at below level 100 in recorded footage, so Money alone does not unlock the visible gear. Sun protection is the purchase that most changes how much of the map you can use.
