Guide Details
Overview
The 171,700-block counter at the top of every Build the Pyramid server is a team target, but your individual progress comes from one number: how many blocks you carry per trip. A player who claims the free stat gift, buys the right upgrades, and trains in the correct gym zone moves from one block per trip to twenty within the first hour; a player who ignores those steps stays at one. This Build the Pyramid beginner guide maps that hour in order.

First Hour Plan
Step 1 — Claim the Free Gift (0–2 minutes)
Find the wooden FREE GIFT! board near spawn and complete its three tasks: like the experience, add it to favorites, and join the Janitors Studios group. Claiming it grants +1,500 Speed and +1,500 Strength — one time only. Recorded sessions show that single claim jumps carry capacity from 1 block to over 30, dwarfing the first hours of treadmill and bench-press training. Take it before your first real haul.
Step 2 — Learn the Delivery Loop (2–15 minutes)
Follow the green path to the quarry, press E on a stone to load it, run to the pyramid, and place it on the green zone for one Coin. Do three or four full trips before spending anything:
- Hold E at the quarry to keep picking up blocks.
- Run the desert crossing (Speed controls this leg).
- Hold E at the monument to place until your stack empties.
- Deposit Coins at the UPGRADES stand.
The tutorial takes about two minutes and ends with "Tutorial complete!" — after that, optimize the loop yourself.
Step 3 — Buy the Three Upgrade Tracks in Order (15–40 minutes)
Spend Coins in this exact sequence:
- Bulk Pickup (50 Coins) — doubles blocks per grab.
- Bulk Place (50 Coins) — doubles blocks per press, so unloading stops being the bottleneck.
- Placement Range (25 Coins) — place from farther away; keep leveling it as the pyramid grows.
Prices climb steeply after level 1 (level 2 runs into the hundreds of Coins), so check the next price before buying. Early Coins are better spent on the next Bulk Pickup level than scattered across tracks.
Step 4 — Train in the Highest Gym Zone You Can Enter (40–60 minutes)
Walk onto a treadmill for Speed or a bench press for Strength/Carry Capacity — training starts automatically, keeps running hands-free, and stops when you jump. The rule that separates fast players from slow ones: always train in the highest multiplier zone you have unlocked, because a repetition at 50x takes no longer than one at 1x. Until your first pyramid completes, that means the base 1x gym; afterward the 2x zone, then the 5x, and so on.
Step 5 — Finish a Pyramid and Use the Waters of Nu Pool (60+ minutes)
On a populated server the first pyramid lands in roughly 15–20 minutes of teamwork. When the final block drops, a cutscene plays; clicking through grants +1 Pyramid, unlocking the 2x gym zone. Go inside the open entrance immediately — the interior's Waters of Nu pool trains Speed and Strength at twice your best gym rate while you stand in it, and the desert resets after about three minutes.
Upgrade Priority and Why
| Order | Upgrade | First Cost | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | Bulk Pickup | 50 Coins | Doubles blocks per quarry visit |
| 2nd | Bulk Place | 50 Coins | Unloading stops being the slow leg |
| 3rd | Placement Range | 25 Coins | Cover a whole layer from one spot; valuable on every tier |
Capacity-first beats speed-first early: one extra block per trip compounds through every cycle, while a small Speed gain only shaves seconds off one leg. Later, maxed Placement Range turns upper-tier placement into a hold-button action.
Gym Multiplier Zones
Completed pyramids unlock faster gyms, and each zone multiplies all training:
| Gym Zone | Multiplier | Pyramids Required |
|---|---|---|
| Base Gym | 1x | 0 |
| 2x Gym | 2x | 1 |
| 5x Gym | 5x | 3 |
| 10x Gym | 10x | 8 |
| 25x Gym | 25x | 15 |
| 50x Gym | 50x | 25 |
| 75x Gym | 75x | 50 |
| 100x Gym | 100x | 100 |
| Admin Gym | 250x | Pass only |
The first pyramid is the hardest gate — every zone after it unlocks faster than the last. The Admin Gym sits outside the free ladder behind a Robux pass.
Public vs Private Server
| Server Type | Pyramid Speed | Coins | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public | ~15–20 min per pyramid | Shared placement competition | Unlocks gym zones and ranks fastest |
| Private (Solo) | Hours per pyramid | No placement competition | Good for solo coin farming; progress persists |
Private servers are a solo coin-farming tool, not a progression shortcut: with no teammates, the 171,700-block target takes hours, so the gym multiplier ladder stalls. Play public until you have the zones you want, then use a private server for focused training sessions.
Common Failure Scenarios
| Symptom | Root Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Pyramid progress crawls | Low carry capacity | Buy Bulk Pickup and Bulk Place, then train bench press |
| Training feels pointless | Using the base gym while 2x is unlocked | Move to the highest zone your pyramid count allows |
| Trips take forever | Low Speed | Trade a short treadmill session before the next big haul |
| Server stalls near the end | Players leave before the final block | Switch to a populated server; the counter resets on desert reset |
| AFK training earns no completions | Completions require placed blocks | Recorded sessions show AFK in the pool does not add pyramid completions |
| Game lags after a block pack | One-shot Robux packs flood the counter | Avoid stacking packs; they add blocks but can lag the server |
FAQ
What is the fastest way to get my first pyramid in Build the Pyramid?
Join a populated public server, claim the Free Gift for +1,500/+1,500 stats, and buy Bulk Pickup then Bulk Place immediately. A full lobby with the gift claimed finishes the 171,700-block monument in roughly 15–20 minutes.
Is the Free Gift worth it?
Yes — it is the single largest early boost in the game. The +1,500 Speed and +1,500 Strength it grants takes under a minute to claim and is worth more than several hours of base-gym training.
Should I spend Robux on game passes as a beginner?
Not for the first pyramid. The Pharaoh pass (2x Pyramids, Insta-Pickup, Insta-Place, reported around 120–149 R$) is the best value if you plan to grind for days, but free play with the gift, upgrades, and correct gym zones beats spending on your first session.
What happens after I finish a pyramid?
You receive +1 Pyramid, unlock the 2x gym zone, and get a roughly three-minute window inside the monument. Stand in the Waters of Nu pool to train at twice the best gym rate before the desert resets and a new pyramid starts.
Does progress carry between servers?
Your stats, upgrades, Coins, rank, and pyramid count are account-wide and carry over; only the monument counter is per-server. Private-server progress also persists between sessions.
